Is TAVAT Serviced Apartments suitable for medical travelers?
Yes — a significant number of our guests are families visiting Chennai for medical treatment. We’re located within 3-4 km of Apollo Hospital (Main, Speciality, and Children’s), SIMS Hospital, Kauvery Hospital, Fortis Vadapalani, and Kanchi Kamakoti Childs Trust Hospital. Our fully equipped kitchens allow families to prepare meals tailored to dietary needs during recovery. A pharmacy and clinic are right next to our building. Past guests recovering from surgeries at SIMS Vadapalani and Apollo have specifically mentioned the convenience of our location and facilities in their reviews. Also, the mobility offered by 1 and 2 bedroom options on the ground floor makes it even more easier for recovering patients to choose from.
How far is TAVAT from T Nagar shopping area?
TAVAT is in West Mambalam, directly adjacent to T Nagar. Ranganathan Street is a 5-minute walk (450 metres). Pondy Bazaar is 1 km. All major textile showrooms (Pothys, Saravana Stores, Chennai Silks) and jewellery stores (Joy Alukkas, GRT, Prince Jewellery) are within walking distance or a short auto ride.
Do the apartments have a kitchen?
Yes — every apartment has a fully equipped, private kitchen. This includes a cooking gas stove with chimney, refrigerator, microwave or OTG, pressure cooker, rice cooker, mixer grinder, water kettle, and a complete set of cookware, utensils, and dinnerware. Most apartments also include an automatic washing machine. Guests are encouraged to cook their own meals, and local grocery stores and markets are within walking distance.
Can unmarried couples stay at TAVAT?
No. TAVAT exclusively hosts families. We do not accommodate unmarried couples, solo travelers, or pets. Events and parties are also not permitted on the property.
What is the minimum stay duration?
The minimum stay is 4 nights (5 days). Many of our guests stay for 1–4 weeks, and some have stayed for several months — particularly those visiting for ongoing medical treatment or professional relocation.
Is TAVAT listed on Airbnb?
Yes, several of our apartment configurations are available on Airbnb. You can also book directly by calling or messaging us on WhatsApp at 9884933111. Direct bookings are available at the same or better rates.
How far is TAVAT from Chennai Airport?
Chennai International Airport is approximately 12.5 km from TAVAT, which translates to a 30–45 minute drive depending on traffic. We recommend booking a cab in advance for airport transfers.
Is there parking available?
Yes, covered car parking is available. However, spaces are limited, so please confirm availability at the time of booking.
Do you provide housekeeping?
Housekeeping is available on request but is not included in the base tariff. Our apartments are fully sanitized by fumigation after each guest checkout.
Is TAVAT wheelchair accessible?
The apartments are on the ground and 2nd floor accessible via the elevator.
What makes TAVAT different from hotels near T Nagar?
Unlike hotels, every TAVAT apartment is entirely self-contained with a private entrance, full kitchen, living area, and washing machine. You don’t share space with other guests. This makes TAVAT better suited for stays longer than a few nights, especially for families who want to cook their own meals. Our rates are typically 20–40% lower than comparable hotel rooms in the area, with significantly more space.
